People do not understand the divine will, few of them are able to perceive it. Therefore, they make mistakes in many actions on earth. But the divine will for each person and his individual "action program" is written in the book of fate, and it can be read. And this is not a violation of the divine will, but on the contrary, its awareness. Predictions in the African tradition of Ifa (Voodoo) give us the opportunity to hear the voice of the Spirit. Prediction plays an important role for all followers of African and Afro-Caribbean traditions. It is through the throw of the oracle that one can determine a person's problem and the reasons for its occurrence, methods of resolution and elimination. Through the throw of the oracle, one can determine whether prayers have been heard and whether sacrifices offered to higher powers have been accepted. Oracles allow the practitioner to have a direct connection with the forces he reveres. Certain positions of the oracle after the throw are not random, the physical elements of the oracle thrown onto the mat reflect the events occurring in the invisible world of the Spirit. It should be remembered that the spiritual Orisha (Irunmole) controls the process of divination. This means that oracles in the Ifa-Orisha (Voodoo) tradition do not exist without Spirit. Connection with Spirit is provided by initiation and practice. In order to perform effective divination, one must be initiated and trained in this art.
The basis of the mystical tradition of Ifa-Orisha (Voodoo) is achieving harmony with the universal forces (Orisha/Irunmole) - the forces of Heaven and Earth. The balance of light and darkness is also manifested in divination, it is the balance between ako meji (male energy) and abo meji (female energy).
Before throwing the oracle, the diviner sprinkles water as a pacification of the spiritual forces. The diviner will also pronounce invocations (Ijuba).
When the Oracle is prepared for the prediction, the priest prays for the client regarding long life, general prosperity and well-being. Also that the ajoogun (destructive forces) cannot harm them. After this part of the work, the Orishas (Spirits) are consulted.
The prayer said by the priest for the client, the ceremonial - sacrificial works done by the priest for the client, are guaranteed to help resolve many questions for the client and eliminate many problems.
